1st International Symposium
1st International Symposium RTG 2740
June 28-30, 2023, Erlangen
Welcome
The Research Training Group 2740 “Immunomicrotope” will hold its 1st International Symposium at the Institute of Clinical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene of the Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University Hospital Erlangen from June 28 to 30, 2023. In addition, we will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of infectious disease immunology research at the institute. The conference is organized in commemoration of Prof. Martin Röllinghoff, who headed the institute from 1983 until 2007 and passed away in November 2022.
The number of participants will be limited to 100. There will be no parallel sessions. During the three days of the meeting, 19 invited speakers (Poster ISIMT23) will give main talks, whereas up to 12 short talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. A separate poster session will be restricted to the PhD and medical students of the RTG 2740.
The goal of the meeting is to stimulate the scientific exchange on the micromilieu, metabolic and microbial factors that form the immmunomicrotope during infections.
The conference is an ideal forum for younger scientists to establish networks and to look for possible career options in the area of infectious disease immunology. The meeting will feature cutting-edge research by international leaders in the field. There will be many opportunities for personal interactions between all participants of the meeting.
Main topics of the RTG2740 Symposium are:
- Metabolism of immune cells
- Pathogens and microbiota
- Myeloid cells as immunoregulators
- Microbial modulation of immune responses
- Imaging
- Single cell RNAseq analysis
- Systems immunology and modelling of anti-infectious immune responses
